In doing so he will revert to the COL minor league system as a protected prospect. I claimed him early on hoping he would claim a rotation spot. He failed to do so hence the release.
B. The waiver process means they will be put on an unprotected prospect list for a period of 1 week in which ANY team can put a waiver claim on said player. If no one claims the player in the 1 week he goes to your minors as a protected prospect. However, if he is claimed the highest team (who put in a claim) on the waiver wire will be awarded said player. Awarded team will then have to carry said player on their MLB roster for the remainder of the year. If the player is dropped from claiming team he reverts back to the original owners minor league roster as protected.
