As in the real MLB we have a waiver trading process after the trade deadline has passed.
Here is how it works.
Any team can waiver up to 2 players.
When a player is waived you have 48 hours to trade him or he is sent back to your team.
While on waivers he is the only player aloud to be on your end of a trade.
(EXAMPLE:) You waive Matt Kemp
A deal must look like this
Matt Kemp
for
Asdrubal Cabrera Nick Castellanos 2nd Round pick
Kemp being the only THING involved on your side of the trade.

This trade process will last until the playoffs which is I believe a 1 week difference.
Ah yes once a player is waived and not traded he can no longer be a part of any trade heading further into the process. He is stuck on your team for the remainder of the season
Good luck and hope I didn't miss anything. Any questions feel free to pm me I will get answers back to you as quickly as I can.

Some follow-up questions:
1. If you waive a player for trading purposes, are other teams allowed to put in a claim on that player?
2. Once you designate the player(s) you're waiving, can you trade him/them to any of the other 29 teams? Or only the team that claims him, as it is in the real MLB?
3. Do ALL of the players involved in a trade have to have been waived first? Or only the player(s) on one side? In other words, in the example given above, it only Kemp who would have to have been waived for Cabrera and Castellanos too?

1. no claims re allowed 2. Any of the other 29 teams 3. If you are waiving Kemp he is the only player allowed to be traded from your team. No other player can be involved in the trade on your side.
