Well....i guess I'm rebuilding
Washington gets: Jurickson Profar (2B - TEX) $1 Trevor Bauer (SP - CLE) $2 Roberto Osuna (SP - TOR) *prospect Mark Appel (SP - HOU) *prospect Erik Johnson (SP - CWS) *prospect Braden Shipley (SP - ARI) *prospect
Arizona gets: David Wright (3B - NYM) $8 Devin Mesoraco (C - CIN) $2
I didn't have the pieces that i felt could get me to contend this year and so i decided to go full rebuild. I'm not really high on either of these guys. I know Meso put up some great numbers last year but i don't tend to value catchers too highly in general. David Wright is coming off a bad year but still put up decent numbers and i still view him as a 2nd tier 3B...but if i'm going to rebuild he's a perfect player to ship off: expensive, older, etc.
A lot of the package I'm getting back comes with risk. Profar missing 2 years is discouraging obviously....but the talent is still there and after he shakes the rust off he will still be a decent age for an MLB prospect. Bauer has been as inconsistent as can be but for some reason I'm a believer. Osuna has huge upside, but he's coming off TJ. Appel is Bauer 2.0. And Braden Shipley has put up OK numbers but has yet to live up to the hype.
A lot of question marks but if a few of them pan out even i like this trade for me. I also like clearing myself of Wright's contract and setting myself up to expedite a rebuild in next year's free agency.

In a vacuum I'd vote to approve, but the salary cap forces me to vote to VETO.
Brandon, you have $10 in cap space and $10 in winning bids. Thus, this trade puts you over the cap by $7.

Unfortunately, the rules forbid that: "20. Any player bought in Off-Season Free Agency must remain on your MLB roster until Opening Day. In other words, you may not trade or drop a player bought in Off-Season Free Agency until the first game of the regular season begins."
